WHY DOES THE ROAD(LIFE) SEEM TOUGH AS WE STRIVE TO PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF CHRIST???

This question has been bordering my mind way back home in Ghana since i made up my mind to serve on a full time mission. Though I was brought up in the church by goodly parents, but there became a time that I was part of the world(doing what the earthly people do) and I was very happy because even when if i did not have anything on me, my worldly friends always provide for me and I came to realize that, they were doing those things for me only because i was in the same shoes with them. There became a time that I wanted to isolate myself from them them in order to refrain myself from those bad deeds and to plan of doing the Lords work(embarking on mission). as I left "those deeds" and was planning and preparing to serve a full time mission, THINGS WERE NOT EASY FOR ME AT ALL, even when I had gone through all the required repentance processes. I made my mind to go to my friends if I could get some help from them to support my GOAL, but they all turned their back on me just because i had shun doing what I used to do with them. I tried all possible means but they never worked. This really became a burden on me and I asked myself ''Why does the road seem tough as we strive to put on the Armour of Christ?". This question came into my mind because I had seen many people who who were in the same situation and did not find it easy but enjoyed as they overcame those trials. So i kept asking myself " What are these people's secrets?". In that evening I just decided to read my scriptures from the BOOK OF MORMON, and I came across a quote which was 1Nephi 3:5-7. I was much likened with the verse 7 because there was a speech which Nephi gave in it which really gave me more courage to do what i had planned to do and it says; I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded for i Know that the Lord God giveth no commandment to the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them to accomplish the things which he commandeth them. After this, i pondered and prayed to God to help me accomplish His commandment of bringing people into His fold. Indeed the Lord answered me gladly and He created an avenue which helped me to fulfill His commandments and also my goal of serving as a full-time missionary. With that help Christ offered me, I have been able to become a full-time missionary in the Nigeria Port-Harcourt mission. As I came on mission, I have been enlightened that, the Lord makes us face trials in order for us to gain testimony about His divinity and also to wax very strong in Him and His commandments and precepts. I have then gotten to know that, as far as we have this mortal body of flesh and bones, we shall surely face temptations and trials. I therefore edge each and everyone everywhere to put on that armour of Christ by doing His will. Though persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame and friends may be lost as we try to follow Christ, but let us always remember 1 Nephi 3:7 and hymn 241 and pray for guidance from God for Him to help us overcome our trails and temptations. I really know with all muy6 heart, mind and my soul without any doubt that 1 Nephi 3:7 is very true and as we strive to do the Lord's will by obeying the counsels of our leaders and endure in the precepts of God, we shall surely have solutions to our problems and inherit the Lord's Kingdom as well Elder Anamoah(Philip) Nigeria Port- Harcourt Mission
